REALITY + ACTION = HOPE
There has never been a greater need to SAVE OUR SHORES. In recent years, we have seen an exponential increase in threats to our beloved Monterey Bay. If this tsunami persists unchecked, by 2050 there may be more plastic than fish in the ocean, our marine and coastal wildlife may be decimated, and scientists predict a catastrophic chain of unstoppable climate-induced impacts. To protect our life-sustaining ocean and life on Earth, we must face REALITY, spur ACTION, and create HOPE. Together we can imagine and create a meaningful, ocean-friendly future. Join us!
Our Earth Day 50 Speaker Series highlights the importance of this pivotal year by discussing growing problems and groundbreaking solutions for our oceans and climate.

“Our house is on fire… According to the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), we are less than 12 years away from not being able to undo our mistakes. In that time, unprecedented changes in all aspects of society need to have taken place, including a reduction of our CO2 emissions by at least 50%. …Yes, we are failing, but there is still time to turn everything around. But unless we recognize the overall failures of our current systems, we most probably don’t stand a chance.”—GRETA THUNBERG, 2019 World Economic Forum
